Private Chapel Of Rest Our Chapel of Rest is open 7 days a week, all we ask is that you ring to make an appointment. It is also available to hold small services for other denominations who do not have use of a building.
Home Visits We will meet to make all the arrangements in the privacy of your own home, where you will feel most comfortable. Or you may make an appointment to meet at our offices on Lake Lock Road.
Attend To All Necessary Arrangements As part of our service, we will make all the necessary arrangements for the funeral. This will include, contacting local doctors to obtain doctors forms for cremation, members of the clergy for officiating at the service and the local council bereavement services to book the funeral.
Vehicles We have a modern fleet of vehicles based on a Ford Mondeo. We can also organise alternative transport including horse drawn hearses (in black or white with 2 or 4 horses) motorcycle and sidecar or vintage vehicles.
Catering We can arrange refreshments after the service. Whether it be at a public house, hotel, church rooms or your own room (where we can obtain an outside caterer who will stay and serve the food and drinks at your request).
Newspaper Announcements We will prepare an obituary announcement or acknowledgement for the local newspaper with you and then place it in the papers of your choice.
Printing Of Service Sheets We can print service sheets for services in church or at the crematorium with a picture of a loved one on the front and other pictures on the reverse. These are often something that the congregation like to keep as a keepsake of a family member or friend.
Choice Of Coffins We offer a wide range of coffin designs including veneered for cremation or solid oak/mahogany for burial. We can also offer wicker, bamboo, cardboard and colourful coffins which can be decorated with your own individual design.
Arrangement Of Disposal Of Cremated Remains Disposal of cremated remains can be in many different ways. Burial in a family grave, memorial gardens in all local cemeteries or strewn at the crematorium where a record is kept of all strewing. If you have a family member whose remains were strewn there you may have others strewn in the same place. Alternatively, you may remove them from the crematorium and take them to a favourite place of the person to be strewn there.
Pre-Paid Funeral We offer a pre-paid funeral with Golden Charter Funeral Plans. Arthur Bell (Wakefield) Ltd is an appointed representative of Golden Charter Limited trading as Golden Charter Funeral Plans which is authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority (FRN:965279).
Cremation We offer a Direct Cremation package that comprises of; Our professional fees, a basic coffin, a cremation without a service (including doctors forms if necessary), all necessary staff and no viewing of the deceased.
