A direct cremation is a straightforward, no-frills cremation service where the body is cremated shortly after death, without any formal funeral or viewing beforehand. This type of service is often chosen for its simplicity and cost-effectiveness. There is no traditional service or ceremony at the crematorium.
The deceased is transported directly from the place of death to our chapel of rest in Stanley. We then transport the deceased in the hearse to a local crematorium, where the process takes place. The ashes are then returned to the family in an urn or container of their choice.
Direct cremation allows families to plan a memorial service or celebration of life at a later time, often at a location or time that is more convenient for them. This option is growing in popularity due to its lower cost and the flexibility it offers for personalised memorialisation.
